Education is the key to a better future - especially for children who grow up under difficult conditions. For this reason, it was a matter close to the heart of our association We Help Children in Afghanistan (NGO) to expand the school building of the OMAID orphanage in Kabul and thus give more children access to lessons and education.

Project Completion 2012: New Quality of Life through Roof Terrace and Renovation Work at the Orphanage in Kabul

In 2012, the association We Help Children in Afghanistan (NGO) successfully completed another important construction project at the orphanage in Kabul. With great commitment and targeted planning, a spacious roof terrace was built on the administration building, which has since served as a protected retreat and meeting place for children and staff. In an environment often characterized by cramped spaces and everyday life, this new open space creates an oasis of peace and relaxation – whether for shared activities, learning in the fresh air, or simply taking a moment to breathe with a view of the city.

In 2012, We Help Children in Afghanistan (NGO) was once again able to make an important contribution to improving living conditions at the OMAID orphanage in Kabul: The roof renovation of an outbuilding had become necessary because the old roof, due to age and wear, offered little protection against the extreme temperature fluctuations. In Kabul, where it rarely rains, but the nights are often bitterly cold, a well-insulated and stable roof structure is essential – especially for the children who live and learn there.

In 2008, thanks to generous donations and active support, we were able to carry out important renovation and expansion work at the OMAID orphanage. The goal of these measures was to significantly improve the children's standard of living and provide them with a safe, child-friendly space to live and grow up.
